CINPASA history
A brief summary of the company’s growth history
1918
Beginnings
In the early days of our family-owned industrial group, cords and tapes were manufactured. Tape manufacturing focused mainly on the footwear of the time.
1936
Nacionalisation
The outbreak of the Spanish Civil War derailed industrial activity. The nationalisation of industry took place.
1961
Specialisation
In order to stand out from the competition, special new tapes that “automatically” gathered curtains went into production: by pulling the tape cords, the pleats were made to measure. Up until then, curtain pleats were measured, folded and sewn “manually”.
1977
Special industrial premises were built for the gathering tape line. “Cintas y Pasamanería, S.A." (CINPASA) was officially established. A period dedicated to experimenting in wholesale tape manufacturing began.
1980
Export Department
A new Export Department was created. The Rufflette and Cortin brands began to be marketed. An extraordinary evolution in tape-making occurred when a system was found to manufacture bordered tape using high-speed weaving looms.
1981
Patent granted
Spanish patent "Procedure for the formation of a double fabric in needle looms for tape-making". For the first time, an additional independent thread was added to the warp, which was used as a weft to weave pockets.
1985
European patent granted
The patent granted in Spain in 1981 was extended to Europe. This patent helped to increase sales and this revenue provided a boost for other investments.
1989
Introduction of ERP System
Installation of the first ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, a comprehensive management and finance programme. The programme was designed by the software engineering company Centro de Cálculo de Sabadell (Barcelona).
2000
Trade fair presence
CINPASA began attending industry fairs with the aim of expanding the market and breaking into new sectors.
2001
Change from Peseta to Euro
A commission was created to prepare for a stable transition to the new currency. CINPASA began working with the Euro on 1st January 2001, while Spain was in the middle of the transition period.
2005
Solutions for the agricultural sector
We started selling tapes for agricultural technical use.
2009
International fairs
CINPASA began participating in international textile fairs: Heimtextil, Euteks, etc.
2010
Decoration industry
Introduction to the decoration industry with different curtain designs.
2020
Digitisation
Preparatory phase in the digitisation of the factory and offices. The start of an interesting stage with the introduction of new information management and analysis tools.
