CINPASA and MACCION launch AVTEX, the AI system transforming quality control in the textile industry
The textile company CINPASA, in collaboration with MACCION, has developed AVTEX, a pioneering system based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer vision that detects defects in real time during textile production, improving quality, reducing waste and increasing efficiency. This project has been supported by the InTransit programme and the Catalan cluster Tèxtils.CAT.
With AVTEX, CINPASA and MACCION set a new milestone in digitalisation and sustainability for the textile sector, aligning with the challenges of Industry 4.0.
Developed at CINPASA's facilities, the system uses AI technology and computer vision algorithms to identify both visual and dimensional defects in tapes and fabrics, even in the earliest stages of production. This innovation not only improves the final product quality but also significantly reduces material waste, delivering both economic and environmental benefits.
“AVTEX allows us to guarantee zero defects and provide our clients with superior quality in every metre of tape produced, while optimising time and resources,” says CINPASA.
This breakthrough has been made possible with the support of the European programme InTransit, which aims to accelerate the digital and green transition of SMEs in textiles, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and construction, with a total budget of €5 million, €3 million of which is allocated to cascade funding for innovative projects.
The project has also received backing from Tèxtils.CAT, which promotes collaboration, innovation and internationalisation of textile companies in Catalonia.
With AVTEX, CINPASA reinforces its commitment to innovation and excellence, demonstrating that AI and textile tradition can combine to create more efficient, sustainable and profitable processes.
